Two slogans on the houses, which was written by local villagers. The first one means " we can overcome any difficulties since we're alive". The latter one means "With our own unremitting efforts, we can rebuild our village". (photo from scio.gov.cn)

Zaoshu village is located in Qingchuan County. There are 206 households, including 746 people living in the village. After the deadly quake,  local villagers wrote two slogans, which are shown in pictures as the above. Those words are soul support to quake survivors during reconstruction, encouraging them to bravely face the earthquake of last May 12.

When Premier Wen visited Zaoshu village on August, 31, 2008, he highly appreciated the two slogans, "they are words of common villagers from the soul. We need the spirit mentioned in the slogans during the period of quake reliefing, post-quake reconstruction and even future economic and social development of quake-affected areas."
