Symposium Tackles Challenges to Women Workers' Rights

The symposium on tackling challenges to women worker's rights is held in Beijing.

  A symposium on how to tackle the challenges to women workers' rights was held in Beijing on March 8, the International Women's Day.

  More than 40 lawyers, judges, law studies experts, labor dispute arbitrators and journalists attended the sympoisum organized by the Center for Women's Law and Legal Services of Beijing University Law School and the Beijing Labor Law and Social Security Law Society.

  They discussed what rights women workers are entitled to when they are pregnant, on maternity leave and in suckling period, and what actions they can take when their lawful rights are infringed.

The participants to the symposium put forward suggestions on legislation and law enforcement to better protect women workers?rights. They also proposed to further promote gender equality.
