Vice-President and Secretary-General of China Society for Human Rights Studies, President and Editor-in-chief of Human Rights Journal, Professor
Born in November 1962, Prof. Dong Yunhu once held the title of Deputy Director of Marxism Research Institute of Party School of the CPC Central Committee, Director and Professor of Human Rights Studies Center. As the first person to systematically study human rights issues in China, he published his masterpiece: An Overview of Human Rights Documents in the World in 1990, which broke the forbidden theory study zone of human rights. He was one of the main draftsmen of the first human rights white paper issued in 1991 by the State Council Information Office of P.R.C.
His main works include: An Overview of Human Rights Documents in the World, The Sequel of an Overview of Human Rights Documents in the World, Women's Human Rights in China, A Guide to Human Rights Basic Literature, Human Rights Covenants and Laws of the Countries of the World, On Contemporary Human Rights in China and, etc; chief editor of Yearbook of Human Rights in China, and Series of Human Rights in the World (6 volumes); in charge of the translation of several works about human rights. He published about 100 papers on human rights successively, which amount to 1.5 million words. What's more, his translation and compiling materials amount to more than 3 and 4 million words respectively.
