Preface

¡¡¡¡

Since the founding of New China in 1949, and especially since the introduction of the reform and opening-up policy, the people of all ethnic groups across the country, guided by the Party's ethnic minority policy, have substantially united on an unprecedented level. Their remarkable achievements in different aspects of social construction have drawn the world¡¯s eye. It is proved beyond any doubt that no progress in ethnic minority areas, even the unity, prosperity and stability of the whole nation, are possible without the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the unity and hard working of all members of Chinese family, firm adherence to socialism with Chinese characteristics, regional autonomy for ethnic minority areas and harmonious relations among ethnic groups based on equality, unity and mutual help.

We are proudly presenting this "Fast Progress of Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Guangxi, Ningxia, and Tibet" exhibition to celebrate New China's sixtieth birthday and to illustrate the achievements these autonomous regions have made over the period of time, especially, those achieved by the opening-up and reform policy.
