According to the Ministry of Civil Affairs, as of Tursday noon, the death toll in China's major earthquake stood at 69195. A total of 374,176 people were injured and people reported missing increased to 18,389 after the 8.0-magnitude quake rocked southwestern Sichuan Province and neighboring regions on May 12.
As of Thursday noon, 1579700 tents, 4866900 sets of cotton-padded clothes, 3526000 million tons of power coal, and 1651000 tons of petroleum were delivered to the earthquake-affected areas.
In the 24 hours ending Thursday noon, 240 aftershocks below 3.9 magnitudes were monitored in southwest China's quake zone, and none aftershock below 4.0 was monitored, according to the China Seismological Bureau. A total of 14,325 aftershocks had been detected since May 12.
As of Thursday noon, 96,388 injured people were hospitalized and 86,606 have recovered and been charged. There are still 7,138 people remaining in hospitals, according to the Ministry of Health.
As of Thursday noon, 54.866 bil yuan earmarked for disaster relief was allocated by governments at all levels, among which 49.748 bil yuan was from the central government and 5.118 bil yuan was from the local governments, according to the Ministry of Finance.
By Wednesday, 401300 makeshift houses were built in quake-hit areas in Sichuan Province, 19300 makeshift houses were being built, 49600 makeshift houses were to be built, 24900 were on the way and 57800 were to be delivered, according to the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
By Wednesday, 1472094 people were saved and transferred, according to the Headquarters of the General.
