Abstract of Paper “ The Development of International Human Rights Mechanism since the Adoption of Universal Declaration of Human Rights ”
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is an epoch-making document on rights. It declares that everyone should enjoy complete human rights: citizens’ rights, political rights as well as economic, social and cultural rights. The declaration, though not legal binding, is undoubtedly the basis for the United Nations and regional human rights protection mechanisms, as well as the common objective all countries are still striving to achieve. Meanwhile, the human rights standards defined in the declaration are changing with time. The document has therefore laid a foundation for the development of international human rights protection mechanisms consisting of international human rights treaties and their measures for implementation. |
