Abstract of Paper “More Talk on the Guarantee of Human Rights in Tibet”
This essay starts with the definition of law as a “recognition and guarantee of human rights” in discussing the process of human rights protection in Tibet from the legislative perspective. It starts with the code of law in effect with local political powers in old Tibet and relevant laws and regulations taking effect after New China was founded, and made a detailed analysis of their characteristics. From there the author points out that Tibet’s human rights condition has undergone drastic changes. The paper also elaborates that legislation on Tibetan human rights protection has been systemized since New China was founded in 1949, establishment of such a basic legislative system has been fast and effective, and legislation on Tibet’s human rights protection embodies China’s domestic situation and is in line with international standards. |
