International edition of Smile Wristbands for Olympic Volunteers unveiled
The international edition of the Smile Wristbands for Olympic Volunteers is unveiled.
 

BEIJING, Jan. 1, 2008 -- On New Year's Eve, the international edition of the Smile Wristbands for Olympic Volunteers was unveiled at Beijing's Bell and Drum Towers.

The "Smile Wristbands" are in the colors of the five Olympic rings. The outside of the wristband shows the emblems of the Beijing Olympic Games, Paralympic Games and Beijing Olympic volunteers as well as the Beijing Olympic volunteer slogan, "Volunteer's Smile, Beijing's Image." A unique serial number is on the inside of the wristband.

So far, over 800,000 people have applied for the Beijing Games-time volunteer program. On New Year's Eve, the volunteers hoped to send the smiles and wishes to the world.
