BOCOG officials present certificates to model volunteers.

BEIJING, February 2, 2008 -- Five volunteers for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games were named as the December 2007 Volunteer Stars on Friday.
Gao Xiaochen with the BOCOG Arrival and Departure Center; Xu Shuo with the BOCOG Publicity Department; Men Liang with the BOCOG Volunteer Department; Hu Yingqi with the BOCOG Technology Department; and Tian Fan with the BOCOG Project and Environment Department were awarded the top honor set up for Beijing Olympic volunteers at a commendation meeting.
The five excellent Olympic volunteers expressed their feelings as volunteers for the Olympic Games and shared their experience with recently-recruited counterparts.
Officials with the Volunteer Department presented certificates and awards to the five volunteers and spoke highly of the achievements they have made. The five volunteers expressed their gratitude to BOCOG and resolved to make bigger achievements.
During the meeting, 98 volunteers that were recruited in the fourth phase in 2007 attended a lecture on the Olympic Movement and Beijing Olympic Games.
About 90 percent of the 98 volunteers are university students from more than 40 universities, including Peking University and Beijing Normal University. |
