Human rights organization criticized US increasing the detention center for illegal immigrants

Nov.20, 2014 -- U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced that they were opening and increasing detention centers to handle with the rapid increase of illegal women and children immigrants from Central America according to the reports of AFP. This plan was instantly criticized by human rights organization.

The officials of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said the detention center in Texas will start to receive illegal women and children immigrants from Central America in December and send them back to their country in proper time, which was a US signal to warn Central Americans not to risk illegal immigrants.

It was reported that about 68,000 Central American children, most of them without adult’s companion illegally immigrated to US to get rid of violence and poverty in the past one year. The planned detention center can accommodate 2400 when it finished.

Human rights organization criticized the plan immediately. An immigrant official of American Immigration Council said this institutionalization of family style’s detention was not humanitarian and violent.
