China, Netherlands hold 9th human rights dialogue

Oct.14,2015--The 9th China-Netherlands Human Rights Dialogue was co-hosted from October 8 to 9 in the Netherlands by Liu Hua, Special Representative for Human Rights Affairs of China’s Foreign Ministry and Kees Van Baar, Human Rights Ambassador of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Foreign affairs, judicial and security officials from the two countries attended the dialogue.
Both sides gave an introduction to their new progress in promoting and protecting human rights, and exchanged views on human rights conceptions and other common concerns. They agreed that the dialogue was candid and constructive. The sides will continue human rights exchanges on the basis of equality and mutual respect.
Before the dialogue, Liu met with Peieris Haas, the Directorate-General for Political Affairs (DGPZ) of the Dutch Foreign Ministry. After the dialogue, the Chinese delegation visited the Hague Detention Center and Amsterdam’s City Hall.
