China, Switzerland held 8th Human Rights Dialogue

On March 3, 2015, the 8th China-Switzerland Human Rights Dialogue was co-hosted by Liu Hua, Special Representative for Human Rights Affairs of China’s Foreign Ministry and Urs Schmid, Special Representative for Human Rights of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland in Bern, Switzerland. Foreign affairs, judicial, economic and religious officials from the two countries attended the dialogue.
 
Both sides gave an introduction to their new progress in promoting and protecting human rights, and exchanged views on criminal justice and human rights, economy and human rights as well as international human rights cooperation. They agreed that the dialogue was candid and constructive. The two sides will continue human rights exchanges on the basis of equality and mutual respect.
 
Yves Rossier, State Secretary of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland met with the Chinese delegation. On March 4, the Chinese delegation met with the Secretary General of Bern Municipal Government and visited the House of Religions in Bern.
