May 23, 2018-- “China’s commitment to reform and opening up has not only brought unprecedented sense of happiness to the Chinese people, but also opened boundless possibilities for its people to create a future,” said Japanese economist Kangwon Shikiyo.
Kangwon paid his first visit to China in 1980 and has witnessed every stage of China’s reform. “China’s reform and opening up has not only benefited its people, but also made contribution to the world economy,” said Kangwon. China contributed over 30 percent to global economic growth between 2013 and 2016, ranking 1st worldwide. China has been the largest trade partner of over 120 countries and the world’s second largest foreign investor.
Kangwon said China’s reform and opening up has been very instructive to the world. Today’s world is facing various challenges such as the widening gap between rich and poor, terrorism and climate change. The philosophy of building a community with a shared future for mankind proposed by President Xi has offered an effective solution.
“China’s active participation in global governance and international cooperation injects stability and prosperity to the world,” said Kangwon.
