With haspel’s nomination, one of the darkest chapters in American human rights history has returned to public eyes.
December 9, 2014, United States Senate Select Committee on Intelligence(SSCI) released a report on CIA torture.
a report about
CIA’s Detention and Interrogation Program and its use of various forms of torture on detainees after “9.11”
In the process of interrogation of the detainees, the CIA carried out multiple torture including the prohibition of sleeping, the confinement of narrow space, life humiliation, water boarding, electric punishment, simulated executions, sexual assault and so on.

From Abu Ghraib to Guantanamo prison, widespread abuse of tortures, means more cruel

The systematic torture scandal, together with the work done by Gina haspel in Thailand, constitutes a symbol of the violent reaction against the 9/11 attack

It has also become a lingering haze in the US human rights record.
