LIAO Yi is Professor of School of Law Wuhan University. Professor Liao teaches in the areas of jurisprudence, comparative law, law and logic, judicial reform, legal research and writing. His research mainly focuses on law and development, judicial theory, cultural jurisprudence, and legal education. He is the author of The Spiral of  Equilibrium in Jurisprudential China: Discourse, Thinking and System, A Jurisprudential Gateman: Thought Experiment of Law & Literature, A Theory of Judicial Equilibrium: Dual Construction of Jurisprudential Ontology and China’s Practices. He is a Member of Council of Jurisprudence Institute of Law of China Law Society, Secretary General of Jurisprudence Institute of Law of Hubei Law Society, Executive Editor-in-Chief of Studies on Development, Human Right and Rule of Law. He obtained his Ph. D, LL.M. and LL.B. during 1997-2007 from the School of Law, Wuhan University. In 2014, he joined the Wuhan University Law faculty, and was promoted to professor in 2014. He was among the Luojia Young Scholar in 2010, and Hubei Province Outstanding Jurist in 2017. He used to do research and be a visiting scholar at School of Law, City University of Hong Kong, Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, National Chengchi University in Taiwan (China) and School of Law, Northeastern University in the US.
