Dr. Sanja Arežina is a Counsellor with the Government of the Republic of Serbia, holds a scientific rank of Senior Research Associate-Assistant Professor at Belgrade University, and is 2020/2021/2022 Asia Global Fellow at the University of Hong Kong. She graduated from the Department of International Relations at the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Belgrade, with magisterial studies at the European Department of the same Faculty (Regional policy of the European Union) and obtained a PhD degree with a thesis Relations between China and Yugoslavia and Serbia from 1977 to 2009. She has also finished studies at Chinese Academy of Governance in Beijing, Academy of European law in Trier (Germany) and Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences.
Dr. Arežina is active in academic writing by publishing books and peer-reviewed articles on a number of topics, attending scientific conferences and giving lectures to civil servants, students, and scholars at domestic and international level. Her main areas of interest are international relations, China issues, European Union, and international negotiation. Her book China in Europe, both in Serbian and English, published in October/November 2018.
