China has taken various measures to promote poverty alleviation and social security for the disabled, according to a report published by the Social Sciences Academic Press.
 
Report on the cause for persons with disabilities in China (2018) said that in 2017, a total of 706,000 disabled people received skill training, and 105,000 were hired at 6,692 special poverty-relief bases.

Innovative practices of helping people with disabilities better integrate into society were shared at the China Disability Policy Dialogue held in Beijing Monday, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
 
More than 80 government officials, experts, representatives of companies and organizations and people with disabilities attended the dialogue, which is part of the United Nations Partnership on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNPRPD) China Program.

Two Nanjing Massacre survivors have passed away in the days leading up to this year's National Memorial Day in China, which falls on Dec. 13, the same day a new law will take effect to encourage all sectors of society to care for the group.
 
A total of 20 survivors have passed away this year, according to the Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders on Tuesday.

The Supreme People's Court of China, the United Front Work Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Ministry of Public Security of China, the Ministry of Justice of China, Xi Zang Autonomous Region as well as the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, the German Embassy in China and other departments assigned representatives to attend the dialogue.

Several local governments have adopted measures to help veterans land jobs, following the central government's promise of an all-out effort to boost their well-being.
 
The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Veterans Affairs organized a job fair on Tuesday for employers and veterans in the capital. More than 270 State-owned enterprises and private companies took part. It was the first of its kind for military retirees after the bureau was founded. Nearly 1,000 job vacancies were made available.

Chinese central government has allocated a fund of 5.2 billion yuan (about 754 million U.S. dollars) for disaster relief in the winter of 2018 and the spring of next year.
