Chinese experts attend UN human rights conference

June 22,2016--The 32nd conference of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) opened on June 13 in Geneva. In addition to the general debates, a series of activities were held to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of UNHRC as well as the 30th anniversary of Declaration on the Right to Development.
A wide range of human rights issues such as immigration, rights of women and children, multi-national corporations and human rights and poverty elimination were discussed at the conference.
Experts from the China Society for Human Rights Studies attended the meeting from June 13 to 17. Zhang Yonghe, executive dean of the Human Rights Institute , Southwest University of Political Science & Law and He Zhipeng, executive director of the Center for Human Rights Study, Jilin University, made speeches respectively on the realization of right to development and the protection of migrant workers’ rights.
